The City's Community Tree Team, encouraging children and adults to help care for and plant trees within the city, will plant 13 trees from 9:30 a.m.--12 noon, Sat., June 7. City forestry and horticultural staff will coordinate these efforts at:
• North Street Community Center, 700 North St.
• 325 N. Union St., Marketview Heights community garden.
• Participants will meet in the Draper Street parking lot, near the North Street Center.
As a part of the Community Tree Team, youth and their families may also help with other tree care activities, such as mulching and learning about tree care. Scouts may earn nature badges.
Participants should bring a shovel, a large bucket and work gloves (if available) and wear pants and sturdy shoes. Some tools, wheelbarrows and pruners will be provided. Noregistration is required, and the event is dependent on weather. No rain date will be scheduled in the event of rain. For more information call 428 6770, M F, 9 a.m.--5 p.m.
